How can I express the profoundness of the Majoring in Men curriculum and how Man Church International utilizes this curriculum to speak directly into the heart of man? I wanted to be able to explain as much as possible but remain concise and direct. Having been a student and gone through the curriculum, trying to find a way to express such a life changing process is extremely difficult to put into words. Especially when trying to convey the importance and profound opportunity of knowing God on a deeper level can bring.

These principles are just some of what you will find throughout the curriculum. While the curriculum is called Majoring in men, and our ministry is called Man Church International, these same principles apply to all- men, women, even children and teenagers. These principles help us to understand the foundations of Christ’s example throughout His ministry before and the legacy after His death and resurrection. The primary principle for all of us to understand is that Manhood, or womanhood, and Christlikeness are synonymous. We were created in His image to live the image of His life. If we are able present our bodies as a living testimony to His grace and sovereignty, we will be equipped to disciple others.

Discipleship is more than just teaching. Discipleship is accountability, fellowship, walking out the Christian life and peaching what we are already practicing. Undoubtedly, we have all heard the mantra “Practice what you preach.” Dr. Edwin Louis Cole, expresses the importance of practicing first. If you practice, you will preach the truth. My dad used to say “Do as I say, not as I do.” But the principle of children may not always listen, but they will always imitate holds true. I imitated what my dad did rather than what he said.

While I have already covered a few of the principles taught in this curriculum, here are a few more to give you a glimpse of what you can expect:

Communication is the basis of life.

man speaks from the abundance of his heart.

Prayer brings intimacy- you become intimate with the One to
whom you pray, the one for whom you pray, and the one with whom you pray.

Creative power of your words.

Assumption is the lowest form of knowledge

A half truth is a whole lie.

Love is a choice, an action

A ton of prayer will never produce what an ounce of obedience will.

Peace is the umpire to the will of God

If we examine these principles, we can see the pattern. God operates according to patterns. His character is unchanging, His principles are His expectations for us.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1

When we read this verse of scripture, the Bible expresses with absolute certainty the power of God’s Word. We must fully understand we are created in His image. When we choose Him, He gifts us the power of the Holy Spirit and His authority dwells within us. Thus, we have creative power with our Words. We understand that communication is the basis of life because without communication, no relationship can survive. To have the relationship God desires, we must communicate with him. If we want to have a marriage that lasts, we must communicate with our wives or husbands. If we want our children to grow into the men and women God has destined them to be, we must communicate the importance of their relationship with God.

Love is a choice, an action. We try to quantify love as an emotion or how we feel. But the feeling is not truth. The action is. I love my wife, she knows that because of how I treat her. How I act towards her. Not because I carry this feeling around with me. She doesn’t just receive my feelings through osmosis, she receives the evidence of my love through my actions. The same goes with my love for God. It is an action. I submit and surrender. I repent and thank. I live for Him. I choose to obey His will. These are all actions solidifying my choice to love God. He knows the true desires of my heart whether I choose to verbalize it or not. Therefore, as a man speaks from the abundance of his heart, he must be transformed. Paul speaks of being transformed by the renewal of our minds through seeking God’s kingdom every day. This is absolute truth.

We must seek Him first in to prepare ourselves to accept the changes God has for us. If we truly understand and believe God has planned our best, then we must be prepared to accept it. We must present ourselves to Him through prayer, but we must be prepared through obedience. If we are faithful with a little, God will trust us with much. He desires us to all be fruitful and to bear fruit in His kingdom. He gives us these principles throughout the Bible, but we must choose to seek Him at every turn.

In closing, it is my deepest desire for all men, and women, to reach the potential God has instilled in each of us. This ministry is designed to present a curriculum that guides you through the Bible to lead you into understanding God’s principles for your life. It is designed to help you to understand your value in His kingdom, so you can go out and make disciples. It is designed to help you bear fruit for God.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
John 15:16

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
2 Timothy 2:2
